billboard r.i.p.

two albums checked out of the billboard top 200 albums last week and i'm giving them a goodbye salute. this will be a re-occuring feature. now, they always have a chance of bouncing back into the chart so go out and buy them if you haven't already.

first up is the arcade fire and "funeral". after spending the last three weeks hanging out around the bottom 5, it finally drops out of sight, but not before selling 161,000 records. i have a feeling we haven't seen the last of them as "rebellion (lies)" picks up steam on the radio. here's a link to a demo version of "neighborhood 3 (power out)" from a fan site.

arcade fire demo.

next up is bright eyes and "digital ash in a digital urn". the weaker selling of the two cd's released in january, it falls out while "i'm wide awake, it's morning" chills at around 115. it sold 145,000 copies so far, which is not too shabby when you consider most artists get around 1 dollar for every cd sold. the link below is for his new video, which i know is on the other album, but i don't care.

bright eyes video.
