"happy birthday bobby" screening
a movie i made in college in late 2001 is being screened tonight in hollywood. it will be along with some other shorts that are less exciting, but definitely worth checking out. my movie is 5 minutes so if you start to hate it, don't worry it's almost over.
the show is at the next stage theater at 1523 la brea ave. (just north of sunset). it's on the second floor above the lava lounge. i hear the facilities there are second only to the academy screening room. anyway, doors open at 8 and the show starts at 830. tickets are $7 or 2 for $10. myself and the other somewhat talented filmmakers will be in attendance such as will joines, nate brown and student academy award nominee tony shaff.
so there is really no reason not to be there. this will be the first public showing of "bobby" since 2002 so i've had to dust off the print (dvd). i hope it's not just us there. thanks

Hmm. I think this screening would be a lot cooler if "Sugar", "Ground", or "The Square Deal" were screening.
I just noticed that I used the word "screening" twice in my previous post. Bad form. I shoud have said "playing" or "a part of it" the second time.
aaron also mentioned the films "Sugar", "Ground", and "The Square Deal" in his first post. Bad form as well.
Is a Nate Brown opus being screened? I'd pay money to see that. By the way, what did I do on HB,B? Was I the producer? And if so, why did Gerry show up in middle of the shoot with a shit-eating grin on his face?
you were the producer. and jerry, who supposedly loved the script and was excited for it, showed up at the shoot and said "chad, is this all in rhyme?"
